Personal Statement:
![]() My name is Miranda Michele Harper, Michele after my mother. All my life, I have been involved in some kind of activity(s). I absolutely adore all kinds of animals, and believe each creature has a reason to be on this earth. I have a very bubbly personality, which seems to be a positive and negative trait in life. When I was a child, I just knew I was going to pursue my dreams of being a teacher, just like my mother. As I have grown in life, I have searched and searched what field matches my personality best, and it's ended me with the medical field. I am currently taking my pre-requisets to then apply to the Nursing School at East Carolina University with hopes of getting accepted. I want to recieve my Bachelor's Degree, then specialize in Pediatrics. Children are right under animals on my totem pole. I enjoy taking these classes, because I know it will one day eventually put me where I want and need to be in life. This year is my senior year of high school, and also my senior year at Baker School of Dance in Pine Level, NC.. I have danced there since I was three years old. This year has been very bittersweet for me, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I drive a Mazda 6, which gets me from point A to B. My life consist of school, work, church, family and dance. I work at a children's shoe store, and attend Wilson's Mills Baptist Church. I applied for the job at the children's shoe store, to cope better with working around kids, since that's what my career choice will consist of. One of my biggest struggles throughout my life is my parent's divorce. It has been hard for me since age seven when it occurred. I have stayed close with both sides of my family, but the going back and forth is what gets me the most. Sometimes I feel I am in the middle of tug-or-war. On the positive side, I now have one beautiful and intelligent little sister who I live for. She looks up to me, and if I don't do anything in life, I am going to make her proud. I have really enjoyed this project because it has helped me put life in a new perspective. I am growing older, and becoming a women. In less then 5 years, I will hopefully be married, and settled into my new home. It's so hard to believe everything a lifetime can bring you. I am blessed more and more every day.
